Nice little space-rock outfit from the UK. This is some relaxing ambient, prog-influenced music, and is a nice soundtrack to a lazy day. Or an acid trip. Take your pick.

Oh man. Somebody explain to me WHY in the world ACL is bringing Flyleaf to this year’s festival. Because they’re locals (or from Belton, TX at least)? NOt good enough. The first time I heard the below song, I thought, “Well this isn’t that bad,” and then the vocalist friggin’ screamed and I jumped out of my seat. No thank you.

Jenny Lewis is the Rilo Kiley frontwoman, and this tune is a personal favorite of mine. Not sure why Sarah Silverman is there to ruin the vid though.

Zach Braff likes her, but her stuff is pretty much for the ladies only. I guess you could argue that Braff fits that category, but he’s a man-crush of mine, so lay off. Anyway, Ingrid’s not too shabby, but is the musical equivalent of a chick flick.

Gotta love the Old 97’s. Classic folks, classic. Represent. The song below was used in Scrubs when Turk proposed to Carla, and according to creator Bill Lawrence, was filmed specifically with the purpose of getting folks laid. “Watch it with your wife and girlfriend and you’ll get laid.” Watch that scene here.

I am not, never have been, and probably never will be a fan of Stars, therefore my comments are of no consequence. The singer wants to be Morrissey though I think.

Pretty cliche choice for the song here, but I love it. Jose Gonzalez is a great singer/songwriter that you should know and love. Another artist that may or may not translate well to a live setting, but it’ll definitely be interesting to see what results.

We’ve gotten some of this dude’s stuff in the Texan office before, and it cracks me up. That may be mainly because I can’t stand rap and often find it hard to recognize it as an actual genre, but this is a talented member of the community.
