Interesting artist here. The ACL website describes her as anti-folk, and Nicole Atkins’ MySpace says that she’s psychedelic. I’m not sure which is the proper labeling, but I detect some gothic influences, as well as old school 50s tunes. Nevertheless, she does have a great voice.

Electric Touch is a local Austin band, but you’d think they’re part of the revamped British invasion, as that’s what they sound like. I’m really enjoying the song I included here though, so listen to it, and rock out.

He’s opened for Little Richard, and from what I’ve heard he works at a local fish market. He’s Black Joe Lewis. I missed when he opened for Richard because I was at a different concert, but I heard nothing but good things. Plus, anybody that has a song titled “Bitch I Love You” is bound to be freaking awesome.

These guys are young, but if you just listened to the music you wouldn’t have guessed it. Back Door Slam plays some down and dirty blues you’d expect from weathered legends, not a group of 20-year-olds. Could we have the next Black Keys here?

Tristan Prettyman reminds me of a female version of Jack Johnson. Like seriously, even her vocal stylings mimic Jack with just a little higher pitch. I suppose that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I feel like this is the ACL higher-ups’ way of sneaking Johnson into this festival.

Well, just when I said no one has a close enough voice to warrant comparisons to Dylan, I run across Ryan Bingham. He has that gritty sound that could make you think of Bob. Think Guthrie, Dylan and a whole hell of a lot of whiskey.
